| Description: | For over 80 years Dartington has been bringing outstanding individuals to its inspirational estate near Totnes, South Devon. Founded by Dorothy and Leonard Elmhirst as an experiment in rural regeneration the Dartington Hall Estate is an inspiration to all those who live and work here. The estate itself attracts individuals from across the world to learn, experiment and create at Dartington.
Today, the Charity’s work focuses in three areas; the arts, sustainability and social justice. Dartington is home to a year round arts programme, a thriving cinema screening over 450 films a year, the world famous Dartington International Summer School, a centre of sustainable learning in Schumacher College and leading social justice organisations Research in Practice and Research in Practice for Adults. The charitable work is supported by three successful social enterprises, Dartington Property Ltd, Dartington Trading Company who run the iconic Cider Press Centre and Totnes Bookshop and Dartington Hall who offer award winning conferencing and leisure breaks.
Dartington is an international centre for the generation and application of new ideas.
Dartington is a registered Charity.
