Keyword searching means you can search for a specific word or string of words in a database. This is useful when you have a specific job profile you wish to look for. The best words to use as search terms are those that usually only appear in the title or description of the job profiles you are looking for. If your line of work requires a particular qualification or skill, using terms like ASP, HGV, or ACA, can quickly find relevant job profiles. Please note that common words such as it, the, and of cannot be used for searching.
You can also combine words using AND, OR, and AND NOT.
Examples:
training AND development
finds job profiles which contain both the words 'training' and 'development' , but not necessarily next to each other
sales OR marketing
finds job profiles containing either the word 'sales' or the word 'marketing' , but not necessarily next to each other
web AND NOT designer
finds job profiles that mention 'web' but do not contain the word 'designer'
You can search for a phrase by typing it exactly as it would appear in the job description
contract manager
finds jobs containing the phrase 'contract manager'
If you want to find all the variations of a word, you can do so by using an asterisk after the 'stem' of the word.
secretar*
finds job profiles containing words that begin with the letters 'secretar', for example 'secretary', 'secretaries', 'secretarial', etc.
