PHP / MySQL Web Developer - Manchester
Location: Trafford Park, Manchester
Hours: Monday - Friday, 9am – 5pm
Salary: £17 000 - £21 000 depending on experience

Quayside Clothing Ltd is one of the fastest growing online clothing retailers in the UK. Due to continued expansion and rapid growth, we require an additional PHP/MySQL developer to join our ever expanding dynamic team based in Manchester.
The role offers the chance to work on a wide range of development projects in PHP/MySQL on both our back-end technical systems and our successful front-end e-commerce websites.
In addition, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to work on SEO and Usability improvements, keeping abreast of the latest techniques and trends through attendance of major industry conferences and other additional training in these areas.
Applications are welcome from both recent graduates and candidates with commercial experience in web development. A demonstrable online portfolio of previous work would greatly assist any application.
Essential Skills:
- Strong knowledge of PHP 5 as well as MySQL
- Expert level HTML and CSS.
- Good organisational and communication skills.
- A desire to learn about SEO and Usability techniques.
- Excellent problem solving skills and the ability to both implement instructions accurately and self-prioritise tasks.
- A general enthusiasm for the online world and a willingness to learn new skills.
Desirable Skills:
- Knowledge of JavaScript and AJAX (using Prototype/Scriptalicious)
- Previous experience with e-commerce platforms such as OS Commerce / Magento
- Knowledge of Linux/Apache and related server admin through WHM/Cpanel.
- Experience of using web analytics software such as Google Analytics
