The Role
My client, a leading manufacturing company based in Tayside, is looking for a Management Accountant to join their Finance Team. This global company specialises in manufacturing equipment and supplies predominantly to the oil & gas industry.
The ideal candidate will be a fully qualified Accountant, preferably experienced with working in a manufacturing environment. Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will be good team player, be required to work with minimal supervision and have the confidence to take an investigative and analytical approach to your work. You will be comfortable working on your own initiative ensuring accuracy of General Ledger, compliance with company procedures, provision of accurate management data and maintenance of Internal controls systems.
Responsibilities:
- To assist the Finance Team with the preparation of monthly accounting reports, investigating and understanding variances from plan
- Assist in the compilation of annual budgets and other performance targets
- Balance Sheet reconciliations
- Researching and resolving complex accounting issues and transactions
- Run and review control reports, taking action where necessary to maintain compliance with plant objectives.
- Reviewing statistical data with an aim to improve efficiency of plant
Experience:
- A fully qualified accountant with a minimum of two years experience in a similar role
- Have good communication skills
- Have the willingness to take ownership and responsibility
- Ability to work accurately under pressure and meet tight deadlines
- Have excellent IT skills
- SAP knowledge would be an advantage
