Our client is a world leader in the manufacture of precision parts for the Oil and Gas industry and they are looking for a CNC Programmer to join their team in Arbroath.

This position is responsible for the creation of CNC part programs for a range of numerically controlled lathes and mills.Creates new programs, updates existing CNC programs per engineering change requests or manufacturing needs, creates family part modules in order to standardise set ups, tooling selection, cutting data, etc.Makes recommendations in manufacturing methods and validates accuracy of programs prior to release to shop floor.

This position will also be given training in methods analyst role which is responsible for creating accurate manufacturing sequences whereby raw materials and assemblies are processed into quality finished products using the most economical and efficient means. Reviews prints and bill of material requirements of items to be manufactured and determines the process plan, methods, procedures, tooling, etc. required.

This position will also assist other departments as required and assist in the selection and implementation of new technology. Skills typically acquired through 2-4 years of related manufacturing experience.

Main duties

Create/update CNC part programs for CNC controlled Milling machines & Lathes

Action Engineering Change Notices

Assist in monitoring production queues for CNC program availability, as required

Maintain DNC system

Liaise with Method Analysts, machine operators and tooling engineers to ensure standards in methods, tool cutting data, tool selection etc are maintained

Support machine operators in program proving

Support compliance with company Health and Safety management system and PPR objectives and development requirements

Supports the activities of Improvement teams and project teams as required.

Participates and implements processes that improve Service Quality.

Experience: 4+ years related manufacturing experience in oil related industry.

Qualifications: HNC Production/Mechanical Engineering desired.

Knowledge/Skills:-Detailed Knowledge of manufacturing processes

- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications

- Extensive knowledge and understanding of operating and programming Mazatrol machine controls.

- Computer literate

- Good communication skills

- Experience in continuous improvements
