Reporting to the QD-LED Testing Team Leader, you will work as part of the team developing next generation Quantum Dot LEDs.You will be expected to conceive and carry out experiments to prove/test novel CFQD component designs/ideas. You will be involved in fabrication, testing and analysis of QD-LED components. You will be required to work up results, compile and report data to the team leader. You may also be required to source and design equipment for testing.
Duties will include: Research & Development of QD-LED components; Design & carrying out experiments; QD-LED component fabrication, testing and analysis; data manipulation and collation; reporting on progress and writing presentations; equipment design & procurement (design & maintenance of lifetime testing rigs, LED measurement jigs etc.); writing invention disclosure forms and patents where necessary.
You should have at least a degree qualification in a science subject. In addition, IT skills including using the internet and Microsoft Office packages, especially Excel and Outlook, are a must.
You should also have excellent organisational skills; be able to prioritize your workload at short notice and manage tight deadlines. Excellent interpersonal skills are needed, to enable you to operate successfully in a multi-disciplinary/cross-functional team. It is necessary to have the ability to learn quickly and work both independently and in a team with minimum supervision.
