Our client is the Support Services Division of this expanding international facilities Group which manages the design, construction and operation of sites for clients who need to operate in some of the world's most challenging environments.
They are currently seeking a Baker's Assistant to work in Kabul, Afghanistan.
Reporting into the Head Baker and working as part of team of Bakers and Assistants, the successful candidate will be responsible for assisting in the production of all types of pastries, breads and cookies as per the location requirements and to practice good housekeeping and personnel hygiene, health and safety / food hygiene.
Under the direction of the Head Baker you will ensure that all your work is carried out as per the contract and client specification.
You will conform with all health and safety and food safety regulations and ensure that MHE equipment is used as per agreed procedures.
You will ensure all paper work is completed prior to the end of shift to ensure the bakeries food safety program is maintained at the required level.
You will ensure you are always aware of customer service importance and our clients principle of 100% quality, 100% of the time.
Finally you will ensure that all times you have adequate operating knowledge of various bakery tools and equipment.

Knowledge and Skills:
You should be an energetic and accomplished English speaking Baker who can ideally speak fluently at least one other language which may be your native language.
Your work experience should ideally be supported by vocational bakery qualifications and preferably a food safety qualification.
Experience of working in a retail bakery operation, contracted catering services, in a military environment or for a leading international facilities management provider would be ideal, as would experience of working in post conflict areas, remote sites or in other arduous environments.
You will have a general understanding of commercial bakery production operations, knowledge on food hygiene including HACCP, food handling and food presentation concepts and knowledge of popular catering and bakery products.
You should possess excellent communication skills in English and one other language, and be able to adapt to rapid changes in a positive manner, work to tight deadlines and pay attention to the detail.
Superb communication skills and instant credibility are essential as you will be inter-facing with a number of people from different backgrounds, nationalities and religions.
This is an outstanding challenge for a Bakers Assistant looking for something different.
The basic salary is paid in US Dollars and is tax free for an Ex-Patriate employee.
In addition there is an annual bonus payable after 12 month's service which is also paid in Euros and tax free for an Ex-Patriate employee. Shared accommodation, laundry, local transport, permanent disability and death benefit, bereavement leave and meals are all provided free. In addition you will have the use of a phone to call family and friends and also use of the internet for e-mails etc.
Ex-Patriate employees will receive 40 days annual leave per year. In addition Ex-Patriate employees will receive 1 paid return economy flight in their first year of employment and thereafter 2 return economy flights per year. Mobilization and De-Mobilization flights are also paid for by our client.
