The Construction Director reports into the Managing Director & will be based in Dubai.
You will ensure the Construction Division is developed and functioning at an optimal level compliant with all contract requirements, by: Developing the construction operation & find cost effective & operationally viable options to improve processes, improve efficiencies & grow the business internally & externally, leading the business development, staffing, operations & delivery of construction programs across all regions & developing a viable strategy for the Construction Division.
You will develop a planned approach to bring all current construction work into the one Division & will review operational gaps & opportunities. You will develop, implement & ensure compliance of standard operating procedures (SOP's), plan for & manage change.
Responsible for preparation of the annual marketing plan in conjunction with Operations Controllers, ensure customer satisfaction levels are surveyed, analysed & provide recommendations for improvement & will assist/review & submit all commercial bids & proposals.
You will measure the effectiveness of staff training & development programs & identify & develop business unit HR strategies with the Operations Controllers & HR department.
Responsible for the P&L of the division & will gauge business value (ROI). In conjunction with the Director of Finance, responsible for the preparation & achievement of each departments monthly/quarterly/annual budgets, analyse capital requirements of the business & prepare targets in conjunction with Financial Controller.
Knowledge and Skills:
A highly accomplished Construction Director/Manager with significant experience as a senior manager in international construction projects. Practical experience should be supported by a Degree in a relevant engineering discipline. An MBA is desirable.
You should have remote site experience in Africa & the Middle East ideally some in post conflict areas, e.g. Iraq, Afghanistan, Sudan. Should possess excellent verbal & written communication skills in English & ideally one other language.
Should possess a Drivers Licence & be experienced PC User, familiar with MS Office, Outlook, the internet & Microsoft Project.
Salary & annual profit sharing bonus paid in US Dollars & tax free for an Ex-Patriate employee. A relocation/furniture allowance is also payable & an allowance towards childrens school fees. A Jeep Cherokee Sport is provided as a company car or a car allowance of 615 US Dollars per month. Family medical cover is provided as is a laptop & mobile phone.
Holiday entitlement is 5 weeks + public holidays. Ex-Pat employees also receive 1 paid return economy flight per year & Mobilization & De-Mobilization flights also paid by our client.
