ARM ENGINEER - Availability, Reliability, Maintainability
Location: Hertfordshire
Salary: up to £40,000 + Bens Depending on Experience
ARM Engineer: A global leader in aerospace, defence and related services is now searching for highly motivated ARM engineer or technician seeking a long term career path in an established company.
The candidate will receive a mapped training and development in ARM Engineering!!
Some Commutable Locations: Stevenage, Hitchin, Luton, Milton Keynes, North London, Cambridge, Bedfordshire, Watford
ARM Engineer Role Responsibilities:
- To provide general ARM engineering support as required
- To be familiar or at least understand Def Stan 00-40, 00-41, 00-42 and / or other equivalent standards such as Mil HBK and ARMP’s
- To support the development and application of in house and external ARM tools eg SPAR Availability Modelling tool
- To translate mission usage scenarios and include their effect on initial Availability calculations and initial Spares recommendations accordingly.
ARM Engineer Primary Functions
o Reliably and Maintainability analysis
o Service and Operational Availability analysis
o Spares recommendations
ARM Engineer Detailed Technical Tasks
- Spares modelling and Availability modelling.
- FMECA – functional and physical, from component up to system level.
- Reliability Predictions – parts count and parts stress analysis up to system level, demonstrate a very good understanding the affect of reliability under different environments
- Use of proprietary analysis tools, e.g. Relex, Opus, FTA+, etc
- Maintainability – calculation of MART and MTTR times both measured and predicted.
- Testability – designing of testability, BIT implementation.
ARM Engineer Qualifications and/or Skills
- Mathematical/Statistical modelling, Experience using/analysing Probability Distributions, Statistical bias , Analytical bias, “Manipulation” of (COTS) software algorithms
- Experience of using programming and logical languages, e.g. Fortran, C++, C#
