Our client is a rapidly expanding distributor of major FMCG goods in the UK with a network of operations nationwide that ship to a vast profile of customers. We are delighted to assist them in their search for an Assistant Buyer.
To be based out of their flagship site in Shropshire, The role will ensure that the supply of products and services meets the requirements of the company in terms of quality, reliability and supply timeliness whilst ensuring that they are delivered at the lowest cost.
Reporting into the Senior Buyer, you will ensure that the company achieves cost reduction targets as specified in KPIs and be expected to manage and develop supplier relationships.
Ideally with previous buying / purchasing experience, self motivated and an excellent communicator, you will be responsible for:
- Purchasing indirect spend in line with company policy and legislative standards
- Ensuring company procurement policies and procedures are adhered to
- Continually reviewing processes and procedures to identify improvements which can be made to deliver benefits
- Carrying out detailed research to support purchasing activities e.g. market research, request for quotations, tender preparation and issue
- Working with other areas of the business and external groups to maximise purchasing potential
- Purchase order processing (Invoice queries, SAP Orders, Setting up contracts)
