ACCOUNT DIRECTOR PHARMACEUTICAL

The chosen candidate will lead/direct client accounts within the group by taking ultimate responsibility for overall client service and financial delivery, identifying opportunities to increase the level of business.
Identify and win new business together with senior colleagues to achieve the financial objectives of the agency.
Provide strategic guidance to clients and to internal account teams.
You should have a science degree and at least 5 years’ Medical Communications agency or pharmaceutical marketing experience.
Core tasks/responsibilities
INTERNAL LEADERSHIP/LINE MANAGEMENT
·Lead, coach and motivate the internal account team, providing support and advice on client and project issues.
·Working with senior editorial colleagues, ensure appropriate account team resource levels are maintained via effective account team forecasting and succession planning.
CLIENT MANAGEMENT
·Contribute to own accounts through hands-on management of the client and, where appropriate, liaison with opinion leaders. Provide strategic input/commercial understanding to clients and to the internal team.
·Secure profitable ongoing business and also expand the opportunities on accounts.
·Ensure clients receive proactive ideas and creative input to assist and challenge their own thinking and planning.
BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT
·Work with the Client Service Directors to exploit new business opportunities.
·Drive proposal development and participate in new business development pitches.
FINANCIAL
·Ensure best practice financial management across accounts:
-achieving accurate forecasting, phasing and delivery of account plans
The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong understanding of the current pharmaceutical and healthcare environment from both an international and domestic perspective also
demonstrate strong capability for business development activity to expand the existing customer base.
You should have worked with a range of Client companies in the Pharmaceutical industry and be an experienced line manager.
