JOB DESCRIPTION
THE ROLE
You will be working with a Senior Account Manager or an Account Director and will be
responsible for the operational day-to-day running of client accounts.
It is usual to have responsibility for two or more clients and so you need to be able to
prioritise workload and multitask in a busy and often pressured environment. You will be
joining an established, professional and hard working team who have built up an excellent
reputation both within the company and with clients.
QUALIFICATIONS
Ideally you will have the following:
*Educated to Degree level or equivalent
*GCSE's or equivalent in English and Maths - Grade B or above
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
*You will have experience of working within a direct marketing and database environment, preferably in a client facing role.
*You will need a strong understanding of data driven marketing.
*Experience of using tools to extract and process data for direct marketing campaigns (Alterian & Epiphany preferable but knowledge of any analysis, data exploration, reporting or campaign management tools is useful)
*Understanding of the campaign process including selections, list building, suppressions, control cells etc
*Understanding of relational databases and data structures
*Ability to support client queries regarding campaign selections, use of tools or data integrity
*Ability to discuss data issues with clarity and confidence to people with varying levels of technical understanding i.e. both internally within and to clients
*Excellent client facing skills, including presentations, proposals and problem solving
*Responsibility for status meetings and for proposing/progressing action points from these
*Engage in the clients' business and understand how we can meet their marketing requirements
*Strive to exceed clients expectations and to give added value to projects
*Proven ability to work to tight deadlines, under pressure
PERSONAL/PRACTICAL SKILLS
*A self starter, able to work on own initiative, yet contribute and work in a team
*Ability to manage own workload and deliver projects, often to tight deadlines
*Confident, personable character, capable of building good working relationships with clients as well as other team members
*Ability to communicate clearly and write succinct reports
*Conscientious and reliable with a strong work ethic and personal integrity
*Interested in marketing issues, particularly within the Retail sector
*Imaginative but practical approach to problem solving
