An excellent opportunity has arisen to work as an Assistant Accountant for a prestigious company on the outskirts of Huntingdon. As the Assistant Accountant you will be accountable to the Group Financial Controller and will play a key part in the financial function, ensuring the maintenance of effective financial controls and reporting; facilitating improvements to the financial processes. Duties will include:
- Ensure integrity of General, sales and purchase ledgers
- Manage the Company payrolls, compile P11d’s and other statutory returns
- Complete VAT returns
- Reconciliation, including revaluation of intercompany accounts
- Reconciliation of control and other balance sheet accounts
- Maintain sales order processing records and raise sales invoices
- Liaise with customers and ensure adequate credit control
- Assist when necessary with purchase invoice processing.
- Monthly account analysis and variance analysis
- Maintain the Fixed Asset and Depreciation Schedules
- Compile monthly journals and post to ledger
- Review bank reconciliations
- Prepare accruals and prepayment schedules
- Support the ongoing development of AX ERP System and MIS
- Undertake project work as appropriate
- General accounting duties
Experience and skills required:
- Ideally a part- qualified Accountant with relevant experience
- Able to deal with complex reconciliations and resolve any issues arising
- Payroll & PAYE experience
- VAT returns and legislations
- ERP System experience, particularly Microsoft AX
- Analytical skills with a close attention to detail
- Sound organisational skills
- Good communication skills as well as an ability to work cross-culturally with top management and their advisors
- Sense of urgency and ability to respond swiftly to changing circumstances
- An ability to initiate and implement change
- An ability to exercise effective judgement within constrained time-scales and resources in light of competing pressures
This is a temporary to permanent role and our client is looking for someone immediately. Part time hours maybe considered for the right candidate.
