An exciting opportunity has arisen within a large multidisciplinary consultancy with offices and ongoing projects worldwide. Successful applicants will have previous acoustic consultancy experience within the environmental sector and will become part of a hugely diverse organization with a busy office in Birmingham, offering fantastic career development opportunities and a compehensive benefits package.
Salary: £18-25K
Qualifications
Preferably MSc/BSc in Acoustics/ Noise and Vibration
Experience
Minimum of 2 years consultancy experience in the field of Environmental Acoustics
Technically competent and IT proficient
Commercially aware and team player
Good communication and client liaison skills
Personal experience of Noise Modeling using a recognized software package.
Extensive and detailed understanding of Environmental Acoustics.
Familiarity in using noise monitoring equipment.
The ability to produce technically accurate reports
Specialist understanding of the required standards and regulations
Full driving license
Duties
Measurement surveys and reporting
Assessment in accordance with Planning Policy Guidance (PPG) 24 and BS4142
Advice on legislation
Prediction and measurement of transportation noise
Planning conditions - compliance and negotiation
Noise Impact Assessments (including Environmental Impact Assessment)
Liaise with consultants, engineers and architects
Write high quality technical reports
Industrial and commercial noise control
Consultation with Environmental Health Officers including advising on appropriate use of planning conditions
Undertake noise assessment site visits all over the UK
Projects
Typical project areas include Mineral Extraction, Waste management, land filling, open cast mining, wind farms, energy from waste facilities, residential developments, road, rail and air.
