An urgent opportunity has arisen for an Acoustic Consultant to join a reputable multidisciplinary organisation with a network of offices across the UK. Their successful Acoustics sector with expertise in Building and Environmental acoustics operating in both public and private sectors require a Consultant with a background in environmental acoustics to assist in EIA's at their office based in Sunderland.
Salary: £17-22K dependent on experience
Qualifications
MSc/BSc Acoustics/Noise and Vibration
IOA Diploma in Acoustics
Experience
Previous acoustic consultancy experience is essential
Technically competent and IT proficient
Commercially aware and team player
Good communication and client liaison skills
Personal experience of Noise Modeling using a recognized software package.
Extensive and detailed understanding of Environmental Acoustics.
Familiarity in using noise monitoring equipment.
Strong project management skills.
The ability to produce technically accurate reports
Specialist understanding of the required standards and regulations
Full driving license
Duties
Measurement surveys and reporting
Assessment in accordance with Planning Policy Guidance (PPG) 24 and BS4142
Advice on legislation
Planning conditions - compliance and negotiation
Noise Impact Assessments (including Environmental Impact Assessment)
Public Inquiries- expert witness presentations
Liaise with consultants, engineers and architects
Writing high quality reports
Occupational noise control
Consultation with Environmental Health Officers including advising on appropriate use of planning conditions
Sound insulation testing and advice on remedial treatment
conducting noise surveys and using noise measurement equipment.
Undertake noise assessment site visits all over the UK
Projects
Delivering a number of exciting and substantial projects within the divisions of transportation, construction, manufacturing, retail, waste disposal, recycling and gas/energy.
