An exciting new opportunity has arisen for you to join the Actuary UK - Investment Reporting team of a leading Financial Services company. Your overall responsibility will be the design, implementation and management of systems to analyse investment performance for the annuity portfolio.
You will also be responsible for the investigation, analysis and explanation of investment variances arising within the embedded value and IFRS results. Modelled assets are approximately £18bn (including bonds, swaps and credit derivatives).
You will need to develop a detailed understanding of complex interactions between assets and liabilities and be comfortable explaining these results to senior management.
Key Responsibilities:
To manage the analysis of change for annuity investment variances, providing high quality analysis of investment variances to the reporting centre, explaining results as required
-To maintain, develop and update asset data models as appropriate, ensuring that suitable controls are in place to ensure integrity of results
-Manage, coach and develop immediate reports. Ensure development needs of team are being met with particular regard to wider career and company/industry developments. Identify and receive appropriate training to meet other accountabilities and development needs, in particular on new developments within the department, company and industry. Undertake appropriate “Continuing Professional Development” as required by Institute or Faculty of Actuaries (or equivalent body
-Build up and maintain contacts across and outside the business to ensure understanding of actuarial requirements and the impact of actuarial issues on the business. Represent the department or Legal & General internally and externally and participate on committees, working parties or review bodies as required.
Skills, Knowledge and Experience Required:
-Qualified actuary
-Strong Excel skills, including Visual Basic for Applications.
-Excellent communications skills – both written and oral.
-Good knowledge of current life insurance financial reporting requirements and financial modelling of complex investments

Salary up to £92,000 depending on experience plus generous benefits package including c£10k car allowance, pension, life cover, annual bonus scheme, various share schemes. 30 days annual holiday.
