About the Role
To provide a high and consistent level of advice to AFMP producers in areas such as milk quality, pricing and supply contracts
Clear communication with AFMP members at meetings and on an individual basis as and when required.
Provide structured feedback to Producer Directors and Arla of activities/views etc in their region.
Liaison with milk hauliers operating within the defined area of operation
Recruitment of new AFMP members as and when required
To provide weekend and out of hours service on a duty rota
Liaise with Arla business units associated with the retailer(s) aligned to the role in providing agricultural expertise required by that retailer and the business unit.
Develop strong relationships with key customer contacts in order to gain knowledge of customer business needs in association with the business unit.
To be the retailers trusted advisor and information source for technical advice on production methods, current regulations and legislation that affects the dairy industry.
Organise and coordinate when required producer, meetings to develop an open forum for debate between retailers, processors and producers.
Self motivated and able to demonstrate initiative.
Communication skills and the ability to communicate with people in senior positions within Arla and our retailer customers
Negotiation and influencing skills.
Complete understanding of milk pricing, milk production methods and supply contracts.
Able to work on their own with minimum supervision and take responsibility for their own actions.
Able to demonstrate an active interest in animal welfare
Previous experience of working with farmers, suppliers and retailers
Degree level qualification (or equivalent) in agriculture or similar (desirable)
Experience of working in the farming industry (desirable)
