We're looking for an Application Engineer to join one of the UK's leading manufacturing businesses. The company make specialist clamps and service a wide range of industries throughout the world, including high performance clamps for the Eurofighter. This is your chance to join them.
Your role will be to produce new designs of clamps and clamping systems. We'll need you to create designs that maintain the highest level of performance whilst being cost effective for the business. You'll base new designs on existing styles, but we'll expect you to develop new and innovative solutions if necessary.
Designs are made to order, so you'll be expected to turn them around quickly with full product costs so that the sales team can quickly and accurately quote customers. Along the way you'll be expected to identify opportunities to improve existing designs and reduce costs.
We're looking for a commercially aware, well organized and numerate engineer with a high attention to detail who is used to working in a team and to tight deadlines. You'll need to be able to mix creativity with sound engineering knowledge to create designs and concepts for customers that add real value whilst maximizing profitability.
Ideally you will have a minimum of 5 years experience in a similar role, with a good working knowledge of welding, forming and pressing processes.
