An opportunity to join an established non-food retailer as they look to further drive the business into an undisputed market leading position. Under fresh leadership, the UK arm of this global business continues to deliver excellent results in the obviously challenging market conditions. Key to this success has been understanding the customer, differentiating the offer and most importantly, recruiting the right people.
As an area manager you will join an already high-calibre senior team that contains a healthy balance of 'own grown' talent and external bluechip experience. You will run a region of at least 20 units and have full P&L responsibility for a turnover in excess of £80m per annum. You will also enjoy autonomy through control of all local marketing activity and a portion of your area's buying strategy, a bigger remit than usually found within a business of this scale.
You must have a proven track record of delivering results through making decisions independently in a pressurised and high volume yet service-led environment. You must have led an experienced management team through cultural change and challenging trading, whilst also demonstrating that they have genuinely developed under your leadership. You must be able to make a difference.
