It is essential that you have a BOHS P402 certificate for asbestos building surveys, and some form of training experience is desirable. The job is for approximately 5 months. The candidate will be helping train asbestos duty holders of their role and responsibility as part of completing duty holder inspections to update the asbestos register for council buildings
Education and / or experience
British Occupational Health Society P402 Buildings Surveys and Bulk Sampling for Asbestos
Experience of providing Asbestos training
Ability to provide guidance on cost effective solutions to asbestos issues
Knowledge
Knowledge and understanding of current asbestos legislation, associated guidance and best practiceSkills and Abilities
Able to adhere to the Council’s health and safety policyAble to work as part of a teamAble to train and coach employees
Able to gather information and prepare and present oral and written factual reports
Able to organise and prioritise work activities to achieve the most effective use of time
Able to use various computer software packages e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint or equivalent, to generate reports, statistics and training material
Able to work towards and implement the Council’s core values, environmental statement and equal opportunities policy
Other
Ability to travel round the borough
