Despite the current economic climate, this prominent, market leading FMCG organisation has continued to enjoy year on year growth. In line with this continued expansion, they are looking for an experienced Assistant Accountant to join their lively finance team
Reporting to the directly to the Finance Manager and working with a team of 6, your responsibilities will include:
- Maintaining all aspects of nominal ledgers included any relating reconciliations and preparation of the control accounts;
- Maintaining all aspects of both the purchase and sales ledger including invoicing, payment processing, statements, query handling and all associated reconciliations.
- Preparation of accounts up to trial balance;
- Effecting journal entries to correct discrepancies;
- Assisting in the preparation of the quarterly V.A.T. returns;
- Preparing the bank reconciliations;
- Maintenance of the fixed asset register including the calculation of depreciation.
You will also work closely with the Management Accounts team, providing any relevant information to facilitate the monthly management accounts process and as such, this role serves as an excellent entry point into a future management accounting role.
The successful candidate will have solid all round accounting experience include strong sales, purchase and nominal ledger exposure. You will ideally be in the initial stages of your professional qualification with a keenness to develop their career within a role which will allow more exposure to the more senior accounting functions. Both some exposure within management accounting and knowledge of SUN would be beneficial.
