This is a fantastic opportunity for an Assistant Accountant to join one of the fastest growing companies in Wales. My client is the second largest youth expedition providers in the UK who specialise in worldwide expeditions as well as delivering UK based programmes which have influenced the lives of more than 45,000 young people and adults.
The Assistant Accountant will support the Finance Director in the smooth and efficient running of the company finance department. Your main tasks will be:
Responsible for the preparation of monthly management accounts.
Assisting the FD in the forecasting and budget preparation. In addition, you will also be responsible for budget reporting and variance analysis and liaison with budget holders.
Assisting the FD in cash flow monitoring and forecasting.
Responsible for invoice checking, coding and keying together with the full maintenance of the purchase ledger.
Ensure the accurate and timely completion of supplier statement reconciliation.
Responsible for the recording, maintenance and updating of the fixed assets register.
Responsible for the timely and accurate completion of VAT returns.
Completing daily bank reconciliations using Sage.
Responsible for recording and processing correctly authorised staff expense claims. Management and reconciliation of the petty cash system and company credit card transaction processing.
Responsible for the preparation and presentation of Key Performance Indicators for review by the FD.
Supporting the finance department with general accounting tasks. Providing sales ledger/credit control support as directed by the FD, and assist the company Accounts Coordinator as and when necessary.
To record all new supplier details and invoices received in SAGE. To assist with the inputting of data into the customer relationship management system (in-house database), always ensuring the security and confidentiality of all data at all times.
Banking duties to include, sending cheques for payments due, and paying in all monies received.
Undertake other tasks as reasonably required in order to meet the varying demands.
You will be a Part Qualified Accountant (ACCA/CIMA) or QBE with several years experience working as an Assistant Accountant. You will have a strong analytical nature with excellent communication skills and the ability to communicate to people at all levels. Knowledge of MS Office, along with Sage Line 50 is essential. A full driving licence is required for this position.
