>> You have standard grade English (or equivalent) and have experience working in an office environment including use of MS Office. As well as having the ability to handle cash and work as part of a team you also have clear and legible handwriting and can prioritise your workloads. Some knowledge of the practice of the Registration of Births, Deaths and Marriages is desirable.

>> You will be required to provide secretarial, administrative and reception support to Services located in Area Office. You will also be required to undertake the Registration of Births, Deaths and Marriages, including conducting civil marriages, civil partnerships and other civil ceremonies at authorised venues within the Aberdeenshire area, and to undertake Burial Grounds administration duties.    

Job Purpose

>> To provide a registration service for Births, Deaths and Marriages for a specific Registration District and conduct Civil Weddings, Civil Partnership Ceremonies and a range of non-statutory Ceremonies within Aberdeenshire.   
>> To provide administrative and clerical support to other Services residing at the above location.    

Main Tasks
  • Provide registration services and officiate at civil marriages, civil partnership ceremonies and a range of non-statutory civil ceremonies within Registration Offices and at venues authorised in terms of the Marriage (Scotland) Act, 2002
  • Undertake and develop administrative and clerical activities of the Area Office
