Our client is looking for two Assistant Content Editors (web) for 6 months. We are looking for two people whose skills-sets will complement each other. The purpose of the roles is to provide administrative and process-operation support to Content Editors.
Responsibilities include;
*Sub editing and writing copy of websites
*Supporting colleagues in the writing of material for websites
*Operating the web publishing tools, including a content management system
*Preparing content in a number of formats including HTML, MS Word, and PDF consistent with our clients editorial and branding guidelines
*Handling queries from colleagues and members of the public relating to content, publishing processes and technical issues
*Assisting colleagues with website publishing processes
Skills and experience;
*Degree-level education or equivalent
*Very high standard of written English, including the ability to write in plain English
*Good verbal communication skills
*Very good general IT skills, with experience of common office applications including MS Word, MS Excel, and the creation of documents in PDF
*Experience of HTML and HTML editing
*Good interpersonal skills
As we are looking for two people who will complement each other the following shows how the two people will work together.
Person One
*Someone with very strong skills and professional experience in "writing and editing"
*Very sound MS Office skills; experience using a web content management system will be favourably viewed
*Contract-based writing and editing experience within a large organisation
*Communications based projects experience (preferably, online communications projects)
*Ability to adapt writing and editing style to a different corporate culture, and produce copy in line with it
*Ability to learn about our clients business as the learning curve will be steep
Person Two
*Writing and editing skills and professional experience will be viewed favourably
*Strong knowledge of web content management systems and experience of using several different web content management systems - not only to publish content, but also to perform administration and maintenance tasks such as;
*User and permissions administration
*Maintenance of complex aliasing systems
*Training and support for new CMS users
