For our international client in Amsterdam we are searching for a Consolidation expert.
MAIN TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Improve the knowledge on the total of Finance processes;
- Improve quality of Financial Accounting output;
- Improve internal knowledge on financial reporting matters (Dutch GAAP; IFRS, local GAAP)
- Support or build, develop and implement global financial accounting policies and procedures;
- Participate in or give input for certain projects;
- Work independently on global recurring tasks such as consolidation, transfer pricing, policies and procedures, treasury reporting;
- Become a technical expert who can give high level of support to the local finance teams in case of ambiguous situations;
- Show leadership in addressing and resolving business;
- Back up Global Coordinator during absence.
- Assist in the implementation of the new consolidation tool, Cognos;
- Evaluate current consolidation process and propose recommendations;
- Fine tune global policies and procedures in support of the global consolidation;
- Assist in synchronizing Company GAAP manually with Dutch GAAP and update if necessary;
- Coordinate, analyze and effectively communicate the appropriate information to the Finance Accounting team to ensure high quality annual/mid year consolidation;
- Execute the entire process of annual/mid year global consolidation:
- Month end inter-company balance confirmations,
- Checks on Dutch GAAP adjustments,
- Calculation of profit on stock,
- Checks on result of participation,
- Annual reporting and creation of summary annual
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
- University degree or Chartered Accountant; (Degree from a West European or American country);
- 2 to 5 years experience in a multinational environment;
- Analytically strong with highly developed knowledge and ability to specify and use IT systems to achieve process improvements and the conversion of data into meaningful business information;
- Conversant and knowledgeable of accounting and tax legislation and compliance rules (Dutch GAAP, IFRS);
- Experience of transfer pricing policies and administration is a plus.
- Fluency in Dutch a must (verbally & in writing)
- Excellent verbal & written communication skills in English, any other language is an advantage but not essential;
- Excellent Excel knowledge and good Access knowledge
