Summary: If you've ever been into one of our stores, you'll know how much fun there is to be had. Bright, colourful and alive with the squeaking of small animals and splashing of fish, our stores are full of theatre.
As an ASSISTANT MANAGER, your role is to support your Store Manager by ensuring that customers are at the front of your team's minds, the retail presentation of your store is exemplary, your team are trained in order to fill their full potential, the pets are maintained to the highest possible standard and you maximise every sales opportunity.
As Assistant Manager you will be the third tier of management in the store supporting the Deputy Manager and reporting into the Store Manager. You will be a key holder and often take on Duty Manager responsibilities.
We are somewhat different to other retailers because we sell pets but the general experience you have gained in other quality retailers will still apply and help you make a smooth transition. As Assistant Manager your aim will be to support the Store Manager in ensuring your store achieves our 5 key objectives

It is essential that you have previous supervisory or management experience, ideally gained within a retail environment. You'll be responsible for ensuring the store exceeds its sales targets and overseeing matters of security and cash and banking so that we can protect the profits. You'll already know about customer service but you will be expected to make sure that it's the first thing on your team's mind. Of course the care of pets is what we are all about and the fish and small animals need as much care and attention as our customers and staff!
