The Argos retail management environment is now the smartest place to develop the next phase of your career. If you’re already proving your value in retail management - when you join us, at whatever level, the first thing you'll see is the path ahead of you...
The Role
As an Argos Stock Manager you’ll be the heart of the whole operation, keeping our stores stocked up and ready for business through driving profitability, improving best practice, promoting business efficiency and developing a multi-skilled team. You’ll be working as part of a management team of three - taking the role of an Assistant Manager, deputising for the Store Manager and taking responsibility for our back of house functions.
You’ll be responsible for managing a team of approximately 10 people, in a store with a turnover of up to £4 million. This is one of our smaller stores and offers fantastic career progression for those wishing to take on the challenge of managing a larger team in a bigger store.
You’ll lead and develop your team to excel in their roles and exceed targets for operational standards in our stock rooms. With high visibility both front and back of house you’ll be a passionate advocate for the customer experience. You’ll review standards within the store, monitor and challenge best practice, identify opportunities to increase sales, drive profitability and deliver positive change.
The Person
To succeed in this role you will need a minimum 1 years experience of managing a team in a retail environment. You'll be focused on identifying opportunities to make your business more efficient and possess the excellent interpersonal skills required to interact with our customers on a daily basis.
You'll be an inspirational leader, developing your team to their full potential and enabling them to deliver outstanding results. Your ability to think logically, solve problems quickly and work methodically under pressure at peak times will be key.
The Business
While the current financial climate is clearly challenging and likely to remain so for the foreseeable future, Argos remains in a position of operational and financial strength which will continue to sustain our competitive advantage in the market place.
With an Argos catalogue in over 70% of UK homes, and an Argos store within 10 miles of every UK household, you will be working for the UK’s leading catalogue retailer.
We are opening around 30 stores a year in line with our continued expansion and with 80% of our recruitment being done internally you can be sure that your career will be growing along with our business.
