Assistant Manager for rapidly expanding leisure operator - Surrey
Up to 20k plus bonus
My client is the one of the fastest growing operators in the leisure industry. Their growth has been so rapid that they are already nearing 45 sites and are likely to open 8 new centres in 2012.This expansion makes them stand out in a market where most companies are either stagnating or merging. Allied to this rapid expansion my client is passionate about promoting from within. Many of their Centre Managers were Assistant Managers and 80% of their Regional Team was Centre Managers. As well as this rapid expansion and the inevitable opportunities it will bring, my client also pays a highly competitive basic and genuinely pays commissions.
My client is currently looking for an Assistant Manager at one of their sites in Surrey. As Assistant Manager your role is hugely varied and involves an interesting mixture of Sales and Operations. You will have considerable responsibility for running the centre and managing large and diverse teams. From the sales perspective you will be tasked with specific proactive business development with a particular focus on attracting both corporate and individual businesses, allied to promoting the centre in sporting and social circles. From a personality perspective it is imperative is that you are a friendly, approachable and confident person. My client expects you to be able to build effortless rapport with their customers and be a very visible, hands on presence in the centre. The evenings are the busiest time so you must be prepared to work some evening and weekend shifts
In terms of background you will ideally have a good balance of both sales and operational management experience but at this site a strong sales background is imperative. You will have worked in a very customer facing, busy environment within the leisure industry, such as a bowling complex or high footfall leisure centre .In terms of seniority this role would suit a Senior Sales Consultant looking for a more varied working environment. My client centres are fast paced, dynamic environments and you must be able to thrive in them.
