Assistant Marketing Manager,

£27,450 per annum + excellent benefits

The UK’s largest Shopping Centre organisation is seeking to recruit an Assistant Marketing Manager for their high profile Centre based in Gateshead.

The Role

As Assistant Marketing Manager you will play a key role within the team.This is an exciting opportunity to use all the elements of Marketing, PR and Customer Service to drive footfall, shopping time and frequency of visit, resulting in ways to increase market share.This is a fast paced role with involvement in all promotions, marketing campaigns and events within the centre.

You will be expected to establish yourself quickly as a key member of the Centre Team.Reporting to the Marketing Manager your key objectives will be:

  1. To Plan and deliver mall events, promotions and service initiatives, to achieve the business and marketing objectives, and operate in line with marketing strategy
  1. Constantly evaluate to ensure all activity remains within budget, and can demonstrate return on investment.
  1. Liaison with external agencies, to produce creative and compelling advertising, PR and promotional advertising campaigns, that will drive footfall and create repeat visits to the Centre
  1. Pro-active participation within the local community and with national bodies to ensure the profile and position of the business remains whole and develops, in line with corporate objectives.
  1. Where appropriate, manage a direct marketing strategy and develop innovative/creative material, using a combination of both traditional media and new technologies, to meet the overall marketing objectives.
  1. To assist the Marketing Manager with the implementation of the Centre’s PR strategy.
  1. Planning and development of Christmas promotional activities.
  1. Develop new initiatives to help meet marketing objectives and maintain the Centre’s position at the forefront of the industry.
  1. Work in conjunction with the Operations Team to maintain consistently high standards of customer service and to plan and implement new initiatives, including any loyalty schemes, gift vouchers and gift cards.
  1. To deputise for the Marketing Manager as and when necessary.
  1. Plan and execute the annual budget and activity for events and promotions.
  1. Manage all centre literature and branding.
  1. To deal with any reactive media, including crisis management situations.
  1. Brief and manage all advertising and marketing agencies. (where appropriate)
  1. To develop and plan the implementation of the marketing strategy, in line with the business and marketing objectives, to attract tourists to the centre and encourage repeat visits.
  1. To assist the Marketing Manager with the implementation of a Corporate Social Responsibility plan that addresses the needs of the community in line with the corporate objectives.
  1. To manage and supervise the Marketing Co-Ordinators, including coaching and professional development.
  1. Any other duties as appropriate.
The Candidate

This role will require you to have excellent interpersonal skills, sound commercial judgement, outstanding communication skills, flair, initiative and creativity.

The following skills and experience will be essential:

  • Marketing and/or PR experience within a business to consumer or retail environment.
  • Experience working within events management
  • Excellent writing and proof reading skills
  • To have completed or be working towards a relevant marketing qualification
  • A high level of enthusiasm and commitment towards working within a varied, exciting and fast paced marketing environment.
