Working in a multidiscipline team of surveyors, architects and engineers in our Property & Surveying business providing a comprehensive design service to our clients.
This is a great opportunity for assistant mechanical design engineers to work on a variety of projects and to develop their careers within an internationally renowned consultancy.
The successful candidate will be an enthusiastic mechanical engineer, keen to join our dynamic multi discipline team.
They will be HNC/HND/Degree qualified, preferably working towards becoming Chartered and keen to develop their career through professional experience.
Requirements
The successful candidate will:
Possess excellent technical skills in mechanical building services, whilst a wider knowledge of other disciplines is highly desirable Have the ability to see the wider picture beyond their own discipline in projects and to work on several projects simultaneously Be able to logically analyse problems from first principles to determine solutions. A degree of financial awareness and the ability to develop this skill further is required Possess strong communication skills, both written and verbal, and be able to understand and express technical concepts clearly and accurately Be creative and able to innovate new solutions as well as applying existing to problems Organise and prioritise their own time and tasks to enable the simultaneous running of several projects Demonstrate commitment to working and developing as part of a team Be willing to learn from project experiences and to learn and adopt Atkins' systems and processes. Have a good knowledge of sustainable and carbon critical issues
Responsibilities
- Mechanical building services engineering design, from concept design through to construction issue and site supervision
Providing design calculations and preparing technical specifications for a variety of buildings within different sectors Preparing drawings using AutoCAD Client liaison Fulfilling all Atkins and Client QA procedures Report writing and maintaining records and archives to company standards
