Job Description
In conjunction with Table Tennis Scotland, Dumfries and Galloway Council aims to encourage more people of all ages and abilities to actively participate in table tennis activities.
Job Tasks:
1. To assist with the preparation of the coaching venue as directed by the Table Tennis Coach.
2. To undertake necessary administration on behalf of the Table Tennis Coach such as maintenance of class registers and collection of course fees.
3. To assist with coaching as directed by the Table Tennis Coach.
4. To ensure through the timeous personal preparation for each coaching session.
5. To advise, support and offer encouragement to all participants, promoting a positive, active participation in table tennis coaching sessions and be a positive role model for the sport of table tennis.
6. To treat all participants equally within the context of the activity, regardless of the ability or any other factor.
7. To ensure that all activities within the responsibilities of this post comply with Dumfries and Galloway Council' Health and Safety Policy, providing first aid treatment as necessary and appropriate.
8. To undertake training as required.
9. Any other duties commensurate with the level and nature of the post as required by the Corporate Director for Education and Community Development.
Requirements
You will have a Scottish Table Tennis Award or equivalent and an enthusiastic and pleasant manner. Experience of working with young people and good communication skills are essential.
A current driving licence and access to a car would be an advantage. The above posts are subject to candidate vetting through Disclosure Scotland.
