Job Description
Reporting to the Stoke Schools Technical Services Manager the Assistant Technical Services Manager will be responsible for the full operational, service delivery of Hard FM through our client, TransformSchools to the Stoke Schools contract.
Having a sound knowledge of Building Services Engineering, the candidate will be able to ensure statutory compliance at all times. The financial and commercial performance of this contract is directly related to the planning and organization of planned and reactive maintenance to ensure timely completion in line with contractual obligations. In addition the TSM will ensure that the contract delivers BBW performance requirements, specific contract performance objectives, financial budgets and a pro-active service to the client. A highly committed, customer focused results driven individual will achieve great results in this demanding role. The Assistant Technical Services Manager will deputise for the Technical Services Manager for Stoke Schools as and when required.
Requirements
Proven management experience in Building Services and Maintenance
Effective and decisive organisational skills with experience in introducing new ideas and approached
Ability to lead a team and communicate across all levels working within performance management system
Experience of developing operational teams, focused on service delivery
Sound understanding of H&S, Environment and QA procedures
IT literate with knowledge of Microsoft applications and information management system
Qualified to HNC level as a minimum in Building Services Engineering or related subject.
Fully conversant with Risks to non-compliance or unavailability of Building Services, including impact to client and ability to reinstate Full Service promptly.
Responsibilities
Operational Management
Responsibility for the operational management and service delivery of all hard FM services within the contract to meet business and contract objectives
Create and sustain a cohesive, cost effective organisation for the service delivery of all contract requirements
Interface regularly with the customer to ensure satisfactory service delivery
Maintain customer relationship and develop and extend customer opportunity
Human Resource Management
Continuously review work flow to ensure correct staffing levels as per contractual compliance
Proactively involved in recruitment and induction/training plans
Deal with management issues on a daily basis to ensure good teamwork and high morale
Support team meetings and events to develop the facilities team’s understanding and awareness of the customer’s facilities, functions, goals, objectives and key personnel.
Financial
Prepare a formal monthly report dealing with labour / HR issues, costs, financial performance and customer issues
Manage costs and maximise profitability in line with the requirements of the contract and the customer’s needs and expectations
Ensure all billing is processed accurately and on time with the assistance of the commercial department
General
Establish, operate and maintain procedures for the effective planning, organisation, control, monitor and review of the service
Manage interface with third party suppliers and sub contractors
Manage interface with other third parties (e.g. planning officers, local environmental health officers, other site contractors, etc)
Ensure a flexible, professional and customer-focused service to Transform Schools, Stoke Schools Teaching staff, pupils and visitors at all times.
Develop effective working relationships with business partners i.e. RoMEC and Field Force
Management, external organisations, union representatives and suppliers
Understand and meet customer requirements, delivering consistently high service levels and utilising feedback to improve service
Any other duties that may be required in order to facilitate the efficient operation of the contract
