Business Recovery Services(BRS) is by far the largest recovery and restructuring practice in the UK with around 44 partners and 900 staff working across 24 offices. The services we provide are Corporate and Personal Insolvency, Accelerated Mergers and Acquisitions, Managed Exits, Distressed Financial and Distresses Operational Restructuring, Pension Deficit and Property Advice, Corporate Liability Management, Corporate Simplification and Restructuring and Receivables Management. As a Senior Associate within this team, you will be involved in both Advisory & Executory work including - primarily helping lenders, such as banks, or other key financial stakeholders in meeting the financial challenges they are facing. It is involved in both Advisory and Executory type work. What is Advisory work ?
- Involving a mixture of consulting, advisory and implementation skills in crisis situations
- Carrying out business and cashflow reviews for lenders and financial stakeholders
- Formulating options for stakeholders of financially distressed business including developing contingency plans.
What type of Advisory work are you likely to be involved in?
- Cash flow analysis and review of management assumptions;
- Preparing section of a report on a business review
- Assisting on the project management of a financial restructuring
What is Executory work?- Corporate Insolvency/Executory work involves an insolvency appointment such as a Receivership, Administration or Liquidation. It may also involve a process called an AMA.
- In most insolvency appointments, we takes control of the business and assets, trading the business where appropriate, managing a sale of the business or assets, dealing with staff and managing creditors.
What type of Executory work are you likely to be involved in?- Assisting on the first day of insolvency appointment including attending on site to take control of the assets
- Provide support to either the trading team or the sale of business team.
- Gathering information, talking to suppliers, customers, employees etc.
There is flexibility on location - either based in Uxbridge or Reading office, however you may be required to work from other locations as business needs dictate, therefore flexibility is required
Requirements ACA / ACCA qualified; Sound financial analytical skills; Flexibility in terms of diverse industries and role ; Previous experience working in a similar role - with insolvency experience; Demonstrated project and people management experience; Flexibility in working location; Willingness to participate in marketing and business development, demonstrating a proactive approach to the marketplace; Proven project and time management skills; Excellent verbal and written English - good report writing skills.
