Cornwall Council are looking to recruit a BSF Director to scope and deliver their BSF programme over the next 15-20 years.
Cornwall is a county which faces significant challenges as a new unitary authority, but with a committed senior management team there is a real opportunity here for you to contribute and make a real difference. This is a permanent role and we are looking for someone who can deliver the programme over the long term, ensuring the best outcomes for the county and its schoolchildren from an investment potentially worth £580m.
Initially you will be working with partnerships for schools to deliver an outline business case, and then manage the procurement process to establish the local education partnership. The programme is split into 6 waves, and the first of these is worth £85m.
You will need to have experience managing complex programmes and you will need a full understanding of the BSF programme and its processes. Ideally you will have experience of a BSF programme in another local authority, and be looking for the opportunity to put that experience in to practice by taking responsibility for the effective delivery of the programme in Cornwall.
You will need to combine a knowledge of delivering capital projects with an understanding of curriculum needs and the ability to engage effectively with stakeholders, including Headteachers. Stakeholder engagement will be crucial to the successful delivery of the programme.
