Book keeper Part time, 15-25 hours per week Salary 18k-20k prorata
We are seeking a book keeper on behalf of a distributor of heating and boiler spares located in Bedminster, Bristolto carry out all aspects of book keeping duties and administration, in order to ensure that a timely and efficient service is delivered to the company and its clients.
Reporting to the Managing Director responsibilities include the following:-
Weekly:
- Inputting of sales and purchase invoices
- Banking
- Bank reconciliation
- Allocating payments to customer accounts.
- Credit control – Stop list, fortnightly meetings with the Managing Director.
- Liaising with authorities such as the HMRC
Monthly:
- Reconciling suppliers’ statements.
- Making payments twice a month – 90% BACS, 10% Cheques
- Sending out customer statements.
- Month end reconciliations for customer accounts / supplier accounts / internet payments and accounts.
- Month end procedures – VAT etc.
Misc:
- Petty cash
- Cash register
- Franking machine – keeping records and balancing.
Yearly:
- Year end procedures
- Stock take
- Auditors
The ideal candidate will be organised and methodical; have good communication skills; strong skills in computer literacy including knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word; knowledge of Sage; 2-3 years experience of sage; a flexible approach to work and the ability to work on their own initiative.
