Branch Manager required for thriving generalist builders merchant.

Role: Branch Manager
Location: Henley
Industry: Builders Merchant
Salary: In excess of £35 - £40K dependent on skills and experience
Bonus: Up to 30% of salary

To be a successful Branch Manager you must demonstrate the ability to build strong relationships with customers and staff to ensure sales and productivity targets are met and the highest standards of service are upheld. A leader and coach, you will be able to point to achievements in setting the highest standards in branch selling, merchandising, health and safety and performance management.

You must therefore be commercially minded with a good knowledge of warehouse, logistics, administrative, HR and health & safety procedures. Most of all, you will share our 100% dedication to delivering excellent customer service.

The role requires experience in branch management within a busy generalist merchants business.

JOB PURPOSE

·The overall responsibility for the day to day operations of the Branch in accordance with business procedures

·Promote the business, meet set targets and through innovative marketing, maximise sales with existing and new customers.

·Plan, organise and co-ordinate sales, deliveries and stock within the branch.

·Motivate and develop staff in their day to day work by adopting modern management skills

·Work as an effective member of the management team.

·Develop a highly customer service focused environment within the branch

·Maintain branch standards to promote the image of the Company to our customers and the public in general.

·Utilise all resources both physical and human to maximise productivity

·Control costs.


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

·Several years experience of working in an associated generalist type business with experience of working with Building Materials, Timber, Heavyside and Lightside Products.

·Experience of leading or managing a team/branch

·Good product knowledge

·Clean driving licence

·Understanding of the Market

·Excellent Communications Skills

·Computer Literate

·Sound Numeracy and Literacy skills

·Commercially minded

·Customer Focused

·Credit Management skills

·Stock Management skills

·People Management skills

·Knowledge of current Health & Safety legislation

·Good Leadership Skills

·Team Building skills

·Ability to interpret and understand figures and act upon the interpretations

·Knowledge of transport legislation

You will be managing a team of approximately 12 staff and must therefore have experience of leading and managing a team with good knowledge of construction products.
