Are you an online research guru?
A newly created position within this global digital agency, we are looking for a talented and hands on online researcher who essentially is looking for a “start up” environment within an established and extremely successful digital business. Looking to provide a 360 degree approach, research along with a number of other high profile functions will be included within this leader’s offering.
As Director, Customer Research you will sell, design and conduct research and strategy engagements that lead to innovative and high quality experiences for this agencies clients’ customers and stakeholders. You will participate in all phases of research for the purposes of formulating strategy, discovering opportunities, defining requirements, and assessing designs. In addition, you will lead practice and capability development.
Key responsibilities include:
• Provide senior-level interactive consulting, estimation, planning, and leadership on
research and strategy projects
• Articulate value proposition and distinctions between different kinds of research
• Coordinate and execute customer, client, vendor, and market research, using qualitative and quantitative methods as appropriate, including ethnographic research, in-context interviews, facilitated work sessions, focus groups and surveys
• Monitor cultural and social trends, assessing their impact on attitudes and behaviour
• Commission research from external vendors, and retain and leverage relationships with research alliances (recruiting firms, contractors)
• Lead the gathering and prioritization of requirements based upon business requirements, user needs and technology capabilities
• Frame business problems and develop detailed briefs that inform creative ideation, media mix, and communication planning
• Estimate, plan, facilitate and manage usability evaluations and key tracks of work
• Contribute to thought leadership internally, in the form of practice development and project oversight and review, and externally, through presenting and publishing
Experience required:
• Profound relevant online industry experience executing research projects including ecommerce, content portals, kiosks, intranet/extranets, email marketing, online advertising and web-based application design, and marketing strategy
• Consulting experience
• Successful track record of managing and mentoring people
• Established record of leading projects and cross-functional teams
• Past contributions to thought leadership and intellectual capital development
• Successful record of developing client relationships
• Successful record of contributing to business development and revenue generation
• Open to frequent overnight travel and work at client site
