The post holder will ensure that those British Standards relating to Business Continuity Planning are reflected in the continuity plans produced by Departments, leading to acceptance by the Audit Commission that the Council has met the requirements of the Civil Contingency Act 2004. Compliance will be achieved by arranging training and support, and exercises to test plans.
The post holder will also be responsible for providing advice on the ethos of business continuity planning within the local community, both for the business sector and the voluntary sector.
Experience required :-
- A comprehensive knowledge and understanding of Civil Contingency legislation as it relates to Business Continuity Planning, associated guidance and best practice including recent and proposed developments.
- Knowledge of promotional measures in Business Continuity Planning.
- Intellectual capacity to demonstrate or acquire an understanding of the council.
- Evidence of ongoing and relevant professional development.
- Membership of the Business Continuity Institute at least at affiliate level or other relevant professional body
- A comprehensive knowledge of BS 25999 as it relates to business continuity planning.
- Working towards a recognised qualification in Business Continuity Management.
