Business Development Manager – Print Management / Direct Mail / Data Marketing – Cheltenham – Up to £70,000 + £5,000 Car Allowance + company bonus + excellent benefits

Business Development Manager needed urgently for a rapidly growing Print Management company with offices around the UK.This Business Development Manager will be based in Cheltenham with ad hoc travel in the South West.You’ll report directly the company Director and will need to have a good understanding of the print for direct mail, as well as proven business development skills.You’ll be responsible for mentoring a successful Business Development Executive who has performed very highly since starting with the business two years ago.This is an organisation with extremely low staff turnover, excellent career progression, and loyal customer base.This is a business with a low carbon footprint, highly efficient in everything that they do.

The salary range on offer is £30,000 - £70,000 + all of the above benefits, this is a large salary band because my client is willing to look at good sales people with Direct Mail / Print experience at all levels, from Business Development Manager up to Business Development Director level.For the top end of the salary range you will have a solid knowledge of print management specifically, with a black book of contacts in the industry and a proven track record of long service in the industry.For the lower end of the scale training in the nitty gritty of print management is likely to be required.

Summary of role

1.Introduce and establish major new client relationships for the business that are a good fit to our offer

2.Management of marketing/new business staff

3.Contribute to the development of new products and services

Specific responsibilities

…relating to the introduction of major new client relationships

·Regular review of prospects with a significant spend in direct marketing print

·Prioritisation of key targets and development of contact strategies for these key targets

·Co-ordinate and take responsibility for the quality of the company’s response to new business enquiries, from initial meetings, quotes, tender documents, through to pitch presentations

·Monitor and report monthly to the Board on new business activity and income

·Set and manage the company’s marketing budget and co-ordinate all marketing activity

·Represent the company at exhibitions, supplier/buyer forums, conferences etc, and manage all aspects of our presence at such events

…relating to the management of marketing/new business staff

·Responsibility for recruitment, job descriptions, development and training needs, performance reviews of all staff involved in company marketing and new business activity

…relating to the development of new products and services

·Ensure the company keeps up to date with market opportunities and competitor activity relevant to our core dm print management business
