Job Description:

Job Purpose:

To target worldwide military vehicle programmes, produce credible sales and marketing plans, and secure sales order intake to meet the business unit’s growth targets.

Key Responsibilities are as follows:

  • Formulate a five year sales forecast, contributing to the development of the 5 year strategy
  • Deliver the annual budgeted sales and infill, participating in monthly progress reviews
  • Manage key customer relationships finalising contractual and commercial negotiations
  • Sell the company’s products and capabilities by visiting existing and targeted customers in order to achieve the agreed objectives and budgeted sales as a minimum
  • Facilitate the preparation of quotations supporting the process of bid production and submission within the business
  • Influence and advise on Private Venture funding for the development of new products

Job Requirements:

Personal Attributes:

  • In-depth knowledge of military vehicle electronic systems and vehicle programmes
  • Proven technical sales record within the military environment and knowledge of MoD procurement structure (DEC, DPA, DLO etc)
  • Able to conduct professional commercial and technical presentations at senior levels within the customer’s organisation
  • Able to manage the creation of technical and commercial bid proposals within the business
  • Able to successfully negotiate all aspects of a proposal through to contract award and to manage multiple sales opportunities of varying complexity
  • Energetic approach, willing to “think big" and target major system opportunities
  • Degree or HNC in an engineering discipline preferred
  • Excellent communication skills – verbal, written, and presentational; and IT literate
