Business Development Manager

This role focuses on engaging employers and employer partners at district and local levels generating high quality and sustainable opportunities for jobseekers by delivering proven added-value products and the best value employer services.
Purpose of Role
To drive the employer strategy at a district level ensuring that it is cohesive across operational divisions and meets local demand. To target key district level employers and intermediary organisations for development and support operational delivery into national accounts.
Key Responsibilities
• Development of district level employer strategy in conjunction with operational leads to ensure provision meets local demand and is robust during recession.
• Develop relationships with key district employers, generating sustainable opportunities for jobseekers and introducing benefit-led products wherever possible
• Develop effective networks with district employer led bodies and multi-agency
• Development of employer communities to ensure strategy is implemented and opportunities within marketplace are maximised.
• Drive joined-up approach to employer services and effective sharing of opportunities and increasing contract outcomes.
• Develop highly effective working relationships with operational
• Support development team in preparation for new contract bidding rounds.
• Introduce new products/services to employer customer as and when required.
Key Skills
• Proven track record of business development and sales within welfare reform or recruitment related field essential
• Defined experience of developing productive internal relationships, effectively influencing operational teams.
• Experience of developing productive customer relationships, delivering employer-led services across a diverse business base.
• Demonstrable experience of business growth through effective cross selling.
• Experience and ability to develop business relationship through effective networking.
• Good presentation, oral and written communication.
• Proven track record of meeting targets within a pressurised environment
• Effective/Skilled Negotiator
• Target focussed and results driven
• Self motivated, honesty, working with integrity with a desire to succeed
• Commercially aware
• Detailed contractual understanding
