The Business Recovery Services (BRS) practice at PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) operates across all segments of the market but with particular focus on the mid market sector. The team acts as advisors and consultants to a wide range of lenders, as well as to overindebted corporates. We deliver innovative commercial solutions to distressed businesses (including receivership and administration solutions) and undertake Independent Business Reviews for stakeholders. The cases span many commercial and industrial sectors and the team are able to call upon the specialist resource that resides elsewhere in PwC, which often makes the difference between an acceptable outcome and an exceptional one. As part of the wider BRS practice, our BRS team in Glasgow are currently seeking to recruit a Senior Associate to assist the senior team of managers, directors and partners in progressing and processing a wide range of Corporate cases. Requirements
- CA / ACCA qualified (or equivalent)
- Good standard grade and higher qualifications in Maths, English and statistics or similar as a minimum
- A keen interest in BRS/Corporate Recovery is essential and you will ideally have some relevant practical experience
- PC literate, ideally Microsoft Office 2000 and Lotus Notes
- Strong numeracy, analytical and problem solving skills
- Excellent communication skills ? good letter and report writing skills; clear, concise and courteous in person and on the telephone
- Excellent interpersonal skills and confidence when speaking with others
- Ability to create a good first impression with both internal and external clients
- Ability to take the initiative and to thrive in a pressurised environment
- Enthusiastic and willing to assist in the completion of all tasks
- A good team player
- An organised approach to work, with the ability to process information in a logical order
- Flexible attitude towards workload and hours
ResponsibilitiesIn this role, you will be responsible for:
- Implementing case strategy
- Controlling case administration
- Support marketing initiative to banks, lawyers, accountants and the wider business community.
Which will involve:
- Responding to letters using standard and precedent documents
- Responding to telephone calls from creditors, employees, lawyers, agents and other team staff
- Actioning requests and monitoring tasks via in-house databases
- Preparing draft reports to appointors and committees
- Agreeing claims with creditors and distributions to creditors
- Dealing with the preparation of VAT returns, insurance questionnaires, cheque requisitions, receipt vouchers, receipts and payments accounts, estimated outcomes, time summaries and analysis (including monitoring and reporting)
- Understanding legal and statutory requirements
- Understanding the relationships between case lawyers, creditors committees, and other teams within PwC
Additional InformationYou will report directly to a Manager/Senior Manager and will work alongside other BRS Senior Associates, Associates and Analysts. You will also link into wider business teams as required.
