Due to continued expansion, this leading food business are looking for a fresh produce or frozen food buyer to join their successful purchasing team. Based in Central London paying up to £40k.
Due to continued expansion, this leading food business are looking for a fresh produce or frozen food buyer to join their successful purchasing team. The successful candidate will have category responsibility within a multi-site, service focused environment.
With fresh produce or frozen food buying experience, your key responsibilities will be, amongst others:
- Source new and innovative products meeting the needs of different business areas.
- Aim to reduce SKU numbers where appropriate.
- Maintain and develop key strategic supplier relationships.
- Ensure the supply base is managed to deliver best service to the business.
- Build strong, beneficial and positive working relationships with key internal stakeholders.
To be the successful candidate, you will have proven experience of buying within fresh produce or frozen food from either a retail, foodservice or restaurants background. You will have an appreciation for quality product, and the ability to negotiate cost effectively.
