Role: Buyers – Regional fresh food category
Location: West Yorkshire
Salary: £30000 - £45000 dependant on experience
Our client is looking to expand its already successful team of Buyers to deliver their corporate strategy.
The successful candidate will be primarily responsible for Regional products dealing with local suppliers to supply a regional range of goods. This is a unique opportunity for a creative buying professional with innovative ideas around sourcing local products.
The Role
·Develop the Regional Fresh and Ambient, salad bar and fuel forecourts categories
·Deliver profitable ranges and customer promotions, sourcing great products and ranges
·Deliver margin targets and like-for-like margin growth, maximising sales and market share
·Negotiate with local suppliers to supply a local range of goods in each region of the company
·Negotiate with local suppliers, buying in salad ingredients for the salad bar
·Work closely with suppliers to deliver great products and promotions, improved margins and efficiencies around product sourcing, supply, availability and packaging
·Work with suppliers and the NPD team to develop new products and ranges that meet customer needs and enhance the customers perception of the Brand
·Work with Marketing and Customer Insight team to increase customer perception
·Manage stock availability, waste and markdowns for all the product ranges in my category(s)
·Correlate multiple pieces of information including insight, supplier performance, sales and margin and budget into a cohesive range plan/ strategy
The Person
·Previous experience of buying fresh and/ or prepared foods for a major blue chip company
·Strong commercial judgement with a keen eye for new products and a drive to deliver results
·An understanding of the FMCG supply chain and FMCG promotions mechanics
·An awareness of retail trading standards and legal compliances
·Degree level educated or equivalent
