A vacancy has just come up for a highly skilled CT Radiographer with Cardiac and Virtual Colonoscopy experience. This is quite a senior role and candidates should have a postgraduate qualification and at least 5 years of CT experience as well as experience in MRI and General Radiography. Responsibilities:
* To perform all CT examinations as approved by a Consultant Radiologist.
* To assist the Manager in development of CT & other protocols.
* To assist Deputy Manager to ensure that an appropriate stock of consumable items is maintained at all times by managing the day to day medical inventory for CT.
* To ensure all records in relation to CT scanning procedures are maintained. This will include but not limited to the Clinical trial Studies for CT Scanning.
* To act in a professional and caring manner towards patients, visitors and colleagues at all times upholding care standards.
* To support the Manager and to liaise and communicate effectively with all members of the team.
* To assist in the training of staff employed by the organisation.
* Liaise with other disciplines to ensure smooth running of the radiographic service.
* To assist the Manager in the implementation of departmental audit, clinical, infection control and Health and Safety action plans.
* To support the Unit Manager in the responsibility of all Health and Safety and risk assessment management.
* To be professionally responsible and accountable for continuing professional development.
* To be responsible for the orientation and training of visiting radiographic staff.
* To share knowledge and clinical expertise with peers and subordinates.
* To attend mandatory training annually and be responsible for updating the Manager on any training needs.
* To participate in the company performance appraisal process in the setting of developmental aims and objectives.
* To keep abreast of current and future CT practices.
* Responsible for reporting any equipment faults to the appropriate company and where necessary impound any faulty equipment from service.
* To ensure that all radiographic equipment is used/stored and cleaned appropriately.
* To assist in the regular review and updating of all CT & X-Ray protocols.
* To demonstrate safe, effective practice in compliance with policies and procedures, providing a high standard of quality imaging to all service users. To be conversant with Divisional and Unit policies and procedures
* To carry out all quality control measures with regard to the equipment and to assist the manager in the setting up of Quality Control program
* To ensure that all equipment is fit for purpose and to report faults, failures or breakdowns.
* To respect and maintain confidences in relation to all patient and staff matters.
* To attend all departmental meetings as required.
Requirements:
* Degree/Diploma in Radiography.
* Validation by the Department of Health and Children, Ireland if required.
* Cardiac and Virtual Colonoscopy experience essential.
* Postgraduate qualification with at least 5 years of CT experience.
* IV Cannulation Certificate
* MRI and General Radiography experience.
