Objective:
To undertake data support activities to the direct marketing team and with respect to the planning, execution and reporting of campaigns. This with involve utilising a business intelligence and campaign management application known as Faststats. You will be supporting both direct marketing and list rental activity.
Specific tasks:
- Undertake counts and selections using Faststats Discoverer
- Set up the campaigns using Faststats Cascade
- Undertake analysis using Faststats Dicoverer to answer specific questions from the Direct Marketing team.
- Set up new reports within Faststats
- Undertake appropriate analysis in Faststats to assist in the targeting and segmentation of the customer base
- Make proactive recommendations regarding selections for campaigns
- Provide end of campaign reporting and deliver a presentation back to the client
- Responsible for checking the receipt and loading of third party data
- Responsible for the output and delivery of list rental files to list brokers on a daily basis
- Liaise with the DBA (database administrator) with respect to any technical issues
- Create relevant training documentation
- Deliver training to clients and answer queries clients may have on the use of the application
- Understand the future business needs and compile the appropriate change control forms, identifying the business requirements, time constraints etc. Liaise with the DBA and developer to understand theeffort required to implement the required change.
- Support user testing
- Manage ad-hoc requests from the business
Skill base/experience
Knowledgeable about direct marketing requirements from a data and systems standpoint.
Essential experience:
·Knowledge of the lifecycle of a direct marketing campaign
·Specific Knowledge regarding the set up of direct marketing campaigns
·Experience of using Faststats (Discoverer and Cascade) ideally but would consider candidates who have used Viper or Alterian
·Experiencein producing counts, campaign selection, data files to go to mailing houses and producing campaign reports
·Experience of processing cold lists
·Understanding of the industries suppression files e.g. MPS; TBR

Education level
Educated to degree level or equivalent ideally (e.g.IDM qualifications) with a marketing and statistics module.
Environment
You will be part of a small dynamic team and it is important you can work independently as well as being an integral member of a small team. You will need to be able to work to tight deadlines and be able to multi-task.
You will work very closely with the database developer and DBA to ensure that the database design supports the end user requirements.
An interest in how to optimise the use of customer data to support marketing and advertising of products to consumers across multiple channels would be beneficial.
A proactive approach with respect to providing recommendations on how solutions may be developed is required.
You will be an integral team member who will provide input and recommendations for any new products or services that are being developed by the company.
Other Specific Requirements
The job will involve working at multiple sites including Swindon and Milton Keynes, potentially you could be based at either site.
Must be able to travel to meetings with clients.
