Chemical Process Development Manager
My Client, based in the North-East, is the market leader in water quality testing. They supply reliable methods to a variety of commercial sectors. Their products range from precisions instruments, and easy to use reagents.
Due to ongoing growth and expansion; my client is looking for an experienced Process Development Manager, to coordinate and implement a major development programme across all chemical reagent manufacturing activities. This will involve the production of test reagents in tablet, liquid and powder form. The Development programme's aim is to improve the business' facilities, equipment, production methods and product formulations; fundamentally improving the efficiency, quality and yield through these processes. This role involves working with a well established team of scientist and production personnel; while reporting directly to the Technical Director, and working closely with the Operations Director and Compliance Manager on a day-to-day basis.
Key Tasks:
To design, develop and execute experiments leading to improvements in chemical reagent manufacturing processes, in accordance with regulatory guidelines.
To Coordinate internal resources and external organizations to implement the latest tablet manufacturing technologies into the organisation.
To provide technical expertise and support the strategic development and investment programme in chemical manufacture.
To prepare technical reports and documentation on the processing of products, including process validation, product specifications and SOP's.
To work with the Quality Control department to ensure quality compliance from goods inwards to dispatch of finished products
Trouble shooting of problems related to formulations of tablets and other chemical reagents.
The successful candidate will be educated to at least degree level in either chemistry or chemical engineering. This will be supported by significant experience in a chemical production environment and a detailed technical knowledge of tablet manufacturing techniques. Experience of working in a rigorously quality compliant company; with a culture of ongoing improvement. Candidates should also have experience of management of a team of scientists or production personnel; while managing key projects, and reaching corporate goals to ensure commercial success.
Salary £35,000 DOE
