Chief Inspector (aerospace / medical) - Christchurch - c.£28-40k
Our Client are seeking a Chief Inspector to head our small quality department who are responsible for quality systems and standards within the business and it's supply chain.
They are looking for a quality engineer with significant experience either in aerospace, medical or a very closely related industry, looking for a varied and challenging role.
The successful Chief Inspector will:
- Identify, investigate root cause and resolve quality related problems in house and down the supply chain.
- Engage with customers to ensure that they receive a fit for purpose product.
- Work closely with production to maintain a low in-house rejects.
- Inspect 1st off and complete batch inspection with attention to detail and the ability to work under pressure
To be considered for this role you should:
- Time served apprenticeship.
- Extensive experience of using mechanical inspection equipment including Co-ordinate Measurement Machines CMM.
- Have experience of in house and supplier auditing of ISO9001or ideally AS9100, and knowledge of aerospace and medical standards.
- Ideally have a mechanical engineering based qualification to at least HNC / HND level.
- Have significant experience either in aerospace and medical or a very closely related industry, ideally both in house and supplier quality.
- Be excited by the prospect of working in a small but highly professional team in a forward-thinking company.
- Be an excellent communicator who engages customers, suppliers and colleagues in order to achieve their and the company's quality targets.
- Be eligible to live and work in the UK and be fully eligible for UK security clearance and ITAR compliance.
