The overall purpose of the role of a Claims Handler in JLT Online is to process, verify, pay or repudiate submitted claims and complete all required submissions to underwriters.

  • To process all claims from notification through to conclusion which will include liaising with policyholder, underwriters, investigation of events/circumstances, etc in accordance with company and policy procedures.
  • Liaise with nominated suppliers for replacement and repairs.
  • Proactive approach to work with proven ability to work independently when required as well as working as part of a small team.
  • To ensure that all statutory and company regulations are followed to protect clients, colleagues and business interests of the company.
  • Liaise with in house underwriters and our product development team to review and enhance policy wordings.
  • Contribute to the collation of Management Information.
  • Undertake any ad hoc duties as and when required.
  • To acquire and maintain an accurate level of appropriate product and regulatory knowledge and skill in accordance with the job role.
  • Contribute to the development of a supported and flexible working environment ensuring business needs are met at all times.
Essential:
  • Min Grade C at GCSE or equivalent in Maths and English.
  • Excellent Customer Service skills and telephone manner.
  • Good communication skills – written and oral.
  • A good knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
  • An understanding of Insurance products and also technical awareness of the principles of insurance and compliance issues that surround it.
  • Previous experience of working within a claims dept.
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills.

Desirable:

  • Previous experience of dealing with Pet Insurance Claims
