Claims Inspector
Salary: £27,000 - £33,000
Location: South Devon, Cornwall, Isles of Scilly
One of the countries most reputable and ambitions insurance providers are currently seeking a Claims Inspector covering The South West to work in conjunction with regional Claims Centres. You will investigate a portfolio of mixed insurance claims, including Employers and Public Liability, Motor and Property Claims through to final resolution.
Responsibilities
Investigate claims by obtaining statements and providing plans and photographs following accidents or losses on claims which may be the subject of claims to be made against the group
Investigate issues of policy indemnity or possible FSA breaches with policy holders, also making enquiries with Agents and their staff and reviewing any available documentation
Carrying out visits in response to complaints or other special matters with the aim of resolving issues
Provide investigation reports which are clear and concise with logical conclusions on policy and legal liability and also recommendations for further actions, estimates and cost effective settlements and promoting our non adversarial rehabilitation scheme where appropriate
Organising and planning time and travel efficiently so as to complete allocated cases within the agreed business objectives
Maintain records, call books and to complete and submit returns as required by Regional Claims Inspector and Head Office.
Liaise effectively with Claims colleagues, Underwriters, Management, Head Office, Solicitors, Agents, Policy holders, Suppliers and third parties
Skills
Extensive experience within the Insurance Industry with a strong technical Claims background
Proven ability to externally investigate a broad range of Claims including Commercial Liability, Property and Motor
ACII Qualifies
Self-motivated and ability to achieve targets
Excellent communication, interpersonal, investigative and negotiation skills
Initiative so as to identify new lines of enquiry on claims
